Taken on the morning of 26th October 2005, this is a favourite shot, if only for the colours that morning. The sun rose behind a bank of cloud and mist on the horizon, which, in turn, muted its light and produced the warm tones.
To get the simplicity of colour in both the sea and the sky, I had to try numerous exposures of well over a minute using the cable release until I got the picture. 1 min plus exposure at f22.
The old wooden groyne at the end of Swanage beach has since been upgraded to something less interesting for now but the north end of the beach still provides some excellent viewpoints.
